THE WINTER .SHOW. - ' ,r • People desirous of acquiring space at tiro forthcoming Winter Show, which will 1)6 opened in the Coronation Hall, New Plymouth, on June 11th, and continued to June 14th, 'should forward their to the Secretary, Mr A. L. Humphries, without delay. Already a considerable number of intending exhibitors have booked space, and present indications go to show that the available accommodation will be severely taxed. The annual yexhibition of poultry in connection with the Taranaki Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society, whiclj is now incorporate with the Agricultural Society, is again being held in conjunction with the Winter Show. Last year’s exhibition of poultry was a record for Taranaki, but it is confidently anticipated that that record will be beaten this year; Many of the most prominent and successful., breeders and exhibitors from outside have' expressed their intention of sending along entries, and local , exhibitors, too, are busy preparing their birds' ford the Show. Mr S. J. Smith has I generously donated to this section of 1 the Winter Show a £5 5s challenge cup, which will bo awarded to the best bird in the Show. The trophy has to be won 'three times by the same owner, not necessarily in succession, before becoming the property of the winner. In addition, the Society itself is giving gold medals for the best bird exhibited in several of the sections, and there are also other cash specials. Entries for ths secton close on May 31st, with the secretary, at 9 p.m., but intending exhibitors are asked to forward entries before this date if possible, in order to facilitate the secretarial work.
