“MAN OVERBOARD.”
[Per Press Association.] Christchurch, May 23. The Federal Shire steamer Dorset, which arrived in Lyttelton from Sydney this morning, reports that an able seaman, David Crockett, aged 20, belonging to London, was lost overboaic on Monday during heavy weather. Lifebuoys were thrown over. Ihe Dorset ‘put back and cruised round for an hour, but Crockett was not seen again.
