A thousand school children at Guidhall celeoratecl Empire Day. lAitter the Union Jack had been unfurled, the National Anthem was sung. The Lord Mayor, in a stirring appeal to the children, expressed his personal kindness and patriotism. Earl Meath said that the Empire’s nine million school children were honoring the flag, not for the purpose of brandishing the sword, but for making the Empire and the world better and happier.
