LEGAL FARE MUST BE TAKEN. [Per Press Association.] * Auckland, May 20. A case .involving tlio obligation upon a licensed taxi-driver to accept a fare when not engaged was heard at the Police Court this morning, Frank Norman being charged with refusing to carry a young lady on April 27, tiio the legal fare was tendered. It was alleged that Norman refused, saying tho run was too short. Mr Gotten, S.M., said tho point was of some importance, because, unless tho by-law was enforced, tho regulations fixing fards were useless.
