Hector Boyce, the officer on watch at the time of the collision, for hazarding the Centurior During her speed trials in the Channel on the night of December 10, the Centurion, a battleship of 13,600 tons, ran into and sank the Italian collier Derna, which was hound to Cardiff for coal, with a crew of forty. One man landed in a half-dead coin the Isle of Wight, but there was no trace of the others. The bows of the battleship were badly damaged.
