SCHOOLGIRL’S ESCAPE.
ACCIDENTALLY SHOT. A LITTLE GIRL’S EXPERIENCE. [Per Press Association.] Hawera, May 22. A child, six years of age, the daughter of Mr Petersen, a settler, at Matapu, while returning from school on Wednesday afternoon, was accidentally shot in the cheek. She was removed to a private hospital in Eltham, and is considered to bo now out of danger. It appears that a man was snouting at a nare, and did not see the approach of the girl.
