London, May 20. Bichard Wootton, the Australian horse-trainer, is suing Robert Sierrer for alleged libel published in the “Winning Post.”. Christchurch, May 21. In the Supreme Court in the case Tasker v. Clinton, a claim for £6OO damages arising out of the scratching, of Lady Clare for all engagements at the spring meeting of the Metropolitan Trotting Club, the jury found for plaintiff for £350. Tasker was TfnT'trainer and Clinton the owner of te mare. They had an agreement to share the winnings. Trasker failed to accept the mare for the New Zealand Trotting Cup, for which Clinton had backed her. Clinton retaliated' by scratching the mare for ail engagements.
