[Pkb Press Association.] FAtUk PTOMAINE POISONING. ‘ Auckland, May 20. After their evening mail, the principal dish being stewed mutton, Mrs Mary Ann Rowley and her daughter, residing at Ponsonby Terrace, developed ptomaine poisoning. Mrs Rowley died sliortly after from heart failure, but the daughter recovered. No explanation can be given of the cause of the poisoning. SERIOUS TRAP ACCIDENT. Nelson, May 19. > y A serious trap accident occurred at ' Wakefield this morning in consequence .of tho horse bolting and causing the ‘ trap to collide with a post. The occupant, Mrs W. H, Brooks, wife of |k settler, was thrown out and sus'/tained injuries from which she is not .. expected to recover.
