EXPHESSUAX’S SUDDEN HEATH. New Plymouth, May 17. An elderly man named Thomas Martin, an expressman, lately from Wellington, died suddenly this morning as the result of a paralytic stroke. DROWNED IN SHALLOW CREEK. Dunedin, May 17. Robert Patrick Harkor was drowned near Tapanui in a shallow creek while returning to his home from,a sale at Heriot. i ____ BODY IDENTIFIED. Auckland, May 17. The body found in the harbor has been identified as that of James Butler, barman and waiter. He had been suffering from a cold, but was apparently not depressed. A friend said he did not think he was the sort of man who would suicide. The jury returned a verdict of “found drowned.” YOUNG MAN’S SUDDEN DEATH. Marton, May 17. Richard Nicolls, aged about 24, died suddenly in bed early this morning, apparently from apoplexy. His parents reside at Feilding. REX COKER’S DEATH. 1 Wellington, May 17. At the inquest held to-day on Rex Coker, bank clerk, who was found dead in the Bank of New South. Wales, a verdict was returned that deceased died from a gunshot wound accidentally inflicted whilst examining a revolver. There was nothing to show or was there any suggestion that deceased was in any way non-financial or in any other trouble.

' SUICIDE BY SHOOTING. Wellington, May 17. Alexander Thomson, who is also believed to have gone under the name of Thrumtn, shot himself at Boulcott Street this morning. He left the boardinghouse where he had been living, and a few moments afterwards discharged a bullet from a six chambered revolver into Jus side close to the heart. He died a quarter of an hour after admission to the hospital. Accused was a bricklayer by trade and about 38 ‘ years of age.;. He came from San Francisco five months ago. He had been under medical treatment lately.
