WEATHER FORECAST.
The Government Meteorologist (Rev 1). G. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows : The indications are for freshening westerly winds- strong to gale and veering by west to south after 21 hours. There is a prospect of bad weather. Heavy rain is to be expected with rivers Hooded. Barometer falling, but rising after 2-1 hours. EXTRA. The Dominion Meteorologist predicts ; —Westerly storm area with gale veering to southerly in about 21 hours; very boisterous weather; heavy rain following with snow on higher levels.
