A tornado struck the southern part of Omaha City,, unroofing houses. The people were unhurt but panicstricken and fled to the streets. A tornado in Seward township killed i and' injured fifty. The town is reported to be destroyed. Other neighbouring towns ■suffered heavily, including McCool and Tomalo, where four people were killed. The tail end of the tornado at Omaha caught a Union Pacific railway motor-car and hurled it for miles at top speed, partially wrecking it. , The passengers were injured. Large areas of crops' were devastated. Berlin, May 15. The new submarines are equipped' with a 2-9-inch anti-aeroplane gun, which is carried on a disappearing mounting. It takes twenty seconds to lower the gun if the submarine dives. The hydroplanes are being armed with anti-submarine guns.
