Matthews, Bennett and Co.’s Report. Matthews, Bennett and Co. report that at their weekly cattle sale on Wednesday there was a fair yarding of stock, and nearly everything sold at the following prices:—Good weaner heifers £1 15s to £2 ss, mixed calves £1 5s to £1 Bs, store cows (good) £3 15s to £4 Bs, good do. £2 to £3, spring ers £4 15s to £7, lambs 7s 8d to 10s, f.m. ewes 9f? to 11s 6d. At the Horse Fair on Friday, there was a good entry of horses, mostly of a poor class. Good hacks and harness horses sold at fair rates. Hacks made front £4 15s to £lO, harness horses £8 to £2O, unbroken harness horses £6 5s to £l4 ss, weeds 10s to £3. At Mr Lichtwark’s sale at Tarata on Monday, there was a good attendance. Cows made from £4 to £8 10s, horse £4 15s, calves £1 16s to £1 11s 6d, and sundries at fair prices.
