SOLAR OBSERVATION.
SOLAR OBSERVATION. [Per Press; Association.] Wellington, May 14. Ip connection ..with the proposed Solar Physics Observatory, Miss Proctor, -astronomer, who has just returned from Nelson, informed a Post reporter that Mr Cawthron would be prepared to give £15,000 for a solar observatory. This would be sufficient for the establishment and maintenance of a staff, and it was possible stellar work ,could ibo undertaken. The fringe of Nelson commended itself to her 1 as a suitable site, but the site would be determined by an expert from England. Nelson people, Miss Proctor added, had generously offered the sites, all of which would receive attention.,
