NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
Mr Jas. W. Bower, of the Auckland School of Engineers, who lias a very large number of pupils in Taranaki, has by special request made a trip to these parts to meet students, and will lie pleased to see those already under his school’s tuition, or any desiring to become students on Wednesday evening, or on following evenings, to discuss the formation of classes, at the County Hotel. Mr Bower has for many years been most successful with his pupils. In this uncertain weather, of which we have just had a sample, it is well to be prepared for the rains for which Taranaki has become known. The “Kash” in another column announce the opening up of a fresh shipment of overcoats and raincoats of the best known lines. The prices, too, are very reasonable, but it is quality that counts at the “Kash.” Dance in the Ngaire hall on May 23. Mr J. Donald, successor to Mr A. C. Marr, as proprietor of the Crown Stables, announces that ho has enlarged and replenished the ladies room in the stables, in which a fire is now kept burning continuously. The stalls now number 40, and the “Favourite” drag is always available for parties, etc. A 30-h.p. Cadillac motor car in charge of a careful driver is also for hire. M# Newton King’s next sale at Rape nga will ho held on Friday 16th inst.
