The Government Meteorologist (Rev D. C. Bates) telegraphed this after noon as follows :
The indications are for southerlj winds strong to gale prevailing a: times, with westerly tendency. The weather will be cold with frost inland. Barometer unsteady, but has a rising tendency shortly.
