NEW ZEALAND’S EXPEDITIONARY ARMY. - J 5 [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] , 1+ [United. Press Association.] Ottawa, May 11. The Hon.. James Allen, speaking at Winnipeg, outlined New Zealand’s n'aval and! military progress. He said that should the time ever come when Canada wms menaced, New Zealand would be able to throw an expeditionary army 80,000 strong to her aid. Defence questions were more pressing in New Zealand than in other parts of the Empire, because of her proximity to the Far East, which brought the question of the Oriental menace into possibility. He again urged the necessity of Canada, New Zealand and Australia co-operating to safeguard the sea laiies of the Pacific.
