N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO’S. REPORT. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch report as follows: We held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards on Tuesday last, Gth inst., when there was a fair yarding of "120 head of cattle and 286 sheep. Bidding was dull for all classes of stock, but some lines sold well, while others were neglected. The following prices were /realised: —Store cows 40s for small and poor conditioned cows up to 72s Cd for good stores. Forward cows 90s up to 113 s for fat cows, heifers in calf 80s to 100 s for well grown heifers, 2J-year steers 80s to 87s 6d, 20-month steers 65s to 70s, 20-month empty heifers 62s 6d to 77s 6d, weaner steers, poor and small, 2-1 s to 35s 6d for good Shorthorn cattle, mixed woaners 22s 6d to 345, weaner heifers showing Jersey and Holstein breeding up to 455, springing heifers made up to 115 s, aged ewes, good condition, 12s 6d. During tho week wo have disposed of a fair amount of stock at average market values :—Weaner heifers 35s to 40s, 20-month s empty heifers *65 s to 70s, 20-month steers up to 71s, in calf heifers 77s 6d to 105 s for well grown heifers showing colour. Aged ewes 8s Gd up to 11s 6d, 2-tooth ewes 13s up to 15s 3d, 4-tooth wethers 14s 3d to 14s 9d, lambs 8s 9d to 10s. WEBSTER, DOBSON AND COY’S STOCK REPORT. At Strathmore on Monday we held our monthly sale, and met a fair yard- : ing of both sheep and cattle. There was a fair attendance, competition being on the slack side, several pens being unsold. We quote:—Weaners small £1 6s, lambs 8s 4d, sows 40s to 80s.

At Stratford on Tuesday we had a full yarding of useful and saleable stock. There was a large attendance, and competition was fairly keen throughout, practically every pen being sold at the hammer or after. We quote:—Weaners small £1 3s to £1 7s 6d, weaner steers 34s 6d, do. heifers £2 2s, coloured heifers £2 19s 6d, 18months coloured empty heifers £3 14s to £4 Is, 18-months steers £2 17s to £3 16s 6d, 2i to 3 year in calf heifers £4 15s to £5 6s, store cows old 24s to 40s, store cows 4As to £3, fresh condition and forward cows £3 10s to £4 7s, fat cows £5 12s to £7 2s, dairy cows £6 to £B, springing heifers £4 17s Od to £6 2s 6d, mixed sheep Bs. We report, private sales as follows Empty heifers £3 12s 6d, store cows 60s to 70s, mixed weapers 40s, Jeiv. sey weaner heifers 60sji ! : coloured in calf heifers £5, £6,18p, £B, £7 os, dairy co\vs, £B, 10s to £9 10s.
