“KING OF THE THIEVES.”
A SYDNEY EPISODE. [By Electric Telegraph— 1 [United Press Association.] Sydney, May 8. The burglar at Kelly’s residence left a note signed “King of the ThieYes.” This morning the Sun newspaper received a telephone call asking if they had heard anything of a burglary at the residence of Kerr, a bookmaker at Coogee. The speaker declared himself to be the “King of the Thieves.” The Sun communicated with Ken, who, on examination, found teat hm office had been burgled of £‘so north of postal notes and cheqaes. There was a note signed “King of the Thieves,” on the table tha’Ud.ig him for some cigars that had been appropriated. A man has been incited in the city with some of the misshig property in bis possession. A YOUTH ON REMAND. Sydney, May 9. Frank Deoley, aged 17, the self-styl-ed King of the Thieves, lias been remanded on a charge of burgling from the house of the bookmaker Kerr.
