Slow progress iseeing 1 made with the amendments. The 'republicans are fighting each schedule, including the wool schedule. The Democrats speedily killed- the amendments. New York, May 6.
The Peace Conference delegates were guests at the Pilgrims banquet. Mr Chauncey Depew,'in welcoming them, said that while the nations were building themselves in order to be ready for war, those present met amidst war’s alarms for peace alone.
