FINANCE.
A LOCAL LOAN AND DEPOSIT COMPANY FORMED.
Owing to the present tightness of the money market which, in Taranaki, is considerably hampering financial transactions in stock and farm development operations, it has been thought advisable to add to the number of financial institutions at present lending money on stock, and other general farm securities, with a view to, in some measure, relieving the present strain. With this object a Company has been recently formed in Sthitford and incorporated under tire name of “The Stratford Loan and Deposit Company, Limited,” and an epitome of the nature of the Company’s objects appears in our advertising columns. The Company is, we understand, commencing active operations immediately, and most decidedly will supply a want that has been acutely felt for some time past in this district. The names of the gentlemen constituting the Board of Directors are a sufficient guarantee to all Taranaki farming and business people that the Company will prove to be a live institution, and one fully awake to the necessities of the times. Mr Alfred Coleman is the Company’s secretary, and the Registered office of the Company is at his office, Bridge Buildings, Broadway.
