A PATRIOTIC SPEECH. [Per Press Association.] Auckland, May 7. Capt. Halsey, in a speech to 6000 children in the Town Hall, reminded the young folks that they belonged to the great British Empire. Their fathers and mothers had presented Britain with a battleship, and from what he had seen of them he believed they were prepared to do more. The children should he prepared themselves to do likewise. The speech was a stirring appeal to patriotism and at its close Captain Halsey was loudly cheered.
