Lord Roberts, at a provosts’ luncheon at Glasgow, disclaimed any hostility to Germany, but stated that when the youth of that country were taught to look forward to a conflict with England, we should be prepared. THE MOTHERLAND’S METHODS. (Received 11.35 a.m.) London, May G. The National Service League demonstration was most enthusiastic, and was supported by Mr Charles Chapman, the Socialist ex-president of the Motherwell Trades Council. Lord Roberts contrasted the Motherland’s obsolete methods' of defence with those of the Overseas Dominions.
