The Lord Mayor declared that one ! of the objects of the meeting was to strengthen the Government’s hand in making known that those engaged in commence were willing to make pecuniary sacrifices to promote the aviation movement. Lord DesborOugh eaid that he was sure that the Britishers could privately raise an enormous sum to assist i.:e Government to provide an efficient aerial fleet .
