Tho Xew Zealand Loan and Mer-, cantilo Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford, branch, report as follows: —

On Monday, 28th April, wo held a clearing sale on account of Mr C. A. Simons on the Mangaotea Road, Tariki. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding for everything offered was keen. Tho cows offered were a, fair average lot, and realised fair value, prices being as follows: Cows showing Jersey cross and calving early made from ISOs to 2605, ordinary dairy sorts, calving early realised'from .130 s to 200 s; cows showing Holstein cross, made up to 110 s ; cows duo to calve late, 76s to 130 s; 2J-vcar Jcrsey-Holstoin in calf heifers sold from 130 sto 115 s ; Shorthorn weaner heifers 40s; 20-month heifers, 81s. Sundries were keenly competed for, and realised full value in nearly every case.

On Wednesday, 30th April, wo held our usual monthly salo in our To Wera saleyards, when there was a. fair yarding of 210 head cattle and 1065 sheep. Prices were as follows:

—Weaner heifers, Shorthorns np to 335; weaner heifers, Jcrsey-Holstoin. im to 47s 6d; 20-month steers, 60s to 67s Gd; 20-raonth empty heifers, 65s to 70s; 21-year heifers in calf, 80s to 130 s; for cattle showing JerseyTTolstein cross. Store cows 58s to 80s ; 6-tooth and f.m. owes Its 9d; 2-tooth owes up to 12s 3d; lambs 5s to 7s 9d.

During tho week wo disposed of a fair amount of stack privately at average market values. We quote prices as follows: —Lambs 5s 6d for culls, up to 11s 3d for linos of lambs with a big percentage of ewes ; 2-tnoth ewes up to 13s 9d ; aged ewes 8s Gd to ]os 9d; 2-tooth wethers, 13s Gd to 14s 2d; rams, 1-Jgns to 3gns; weaners (mixed) 30s to 3/ s Gd ; Jersey-Holstcin weaner heifers 40s, to 50s; 20-montli steers, 60s up to 85s for well grown cattle; 20-month empty heifers, 70s; in calf heifers, 72s Gd to 82s Gd: store cows, 72s to 955.
