Mrs McCallum is now showing a large assortment of the latest in millinery for ladies and children. She is also selling a choice lot of costumes bought at job prices. Oddfellows euchre party in the Foresters Hall on Monday evening.
Messrs Matthews and Bennett notify the sale of Mr A. E. Lichtwark’s dairy herd, etc., and also dairy cows, horses, implements, etc., on account of Mr T. Waite, at Tarata, on Monday, May 7th. Particulars appear in another column. An excellent booklet entitled “Poultry for profit” by J. B. Merrett, Christchurch, is to hand. The advice in this book is of value to beginners. A copy may be had for six penny stamps from Box 588, Christchurch. Two horses have strayed on to Mr J. T. Ross’s property at LowgarthSeo advt. A good axeman wanted. A reward is offered for the return of an aged brown horse which strayed from/the Commercial Stables about a fortnight ago. The U.A.O.D. invitation social on Wednesday. Dance in the Ngaere Hal! on Friday, 9th. The Presbyterians are planning for groat things just now. The anniversary services will lie held on 11th inst, and a social tea and concert on the 12th. An evangelistic mission which will run for ten or more days will commence on the 13th, and will be conducted by the pastor.

Messrs Matthews and Bennett’s next Inglewood sale takes place on Wednesday, May 7. Entries appear in another column. Messrs Matthews and Bennett hold their Inglewood horse sale on Friday, May 9th.
