TERRITORIAL NOTES.

CASUAL CAMP DUE SHORTLY. Captain Lampeti, Adjutant of the 11th Regiment, this morning told a reporter that the casual camp would be held at Oringi on the 19th to 31st May inclusive. Those men who have not completed their parades, and have to do four days extra to become efficient, will go into camp on the 19th, but the main body will not go under canvas until the 23rd. There would be about ninety men from the 11th Regiment for the casual camp. Questioned as to the statement that the headquarters of the 11th Regiment would be moved from Stratford to Hawera, Captain Lampen said that this information was quite correct. This will mean that the new Adjutant, who succeeds Captain Lampen, will be stationed at Hawera, and Sergeant-Major Collins and McGlade will also depart for the southern town. The area officer, Sergeant-Major Bonar, will remain in Stratford. The reason for the change lies no doubt in the fact that the Department has secured very comfortable and roomy quarters at Hawera in the Winter Show r Buildings, and the expense of keeping up the two offices has proved too great. Economy has suggested the transference of headquarters to Hawera;

Two Territorial cases were to be heard at the Stratford Court yesterday, but one was withdrawn owing to-the fact that the offender was employed in the Stratford Electrical Supply Company and had been on duty for the last three months from 4 p.m. to 12 p.m, Had the Department been notified of this fact the case would not have been brought into the Court. R. A. Stewart, a senior cadet of 96 Company, for absenting himself from half-a-dozen parades was fined 10s and 7s costs. Two other cases were entered up “not served.” Ser-geant-Major Bonar represented the Department. The Mounted’s Camp commences cn i Sunday afternoon, when the men will entrain for Oringi.
