The .CVuionpm.returned a verdict of ‘ death from suffocation,” the cause being, acidental lodgment of vomit in the trachea.

Gladstone Hotel yesterday, disclosed certificates of membership of the. United Commercial Association of Australasia, and disclosed the further fact that he .travelled for T. L. Elliott and Company.,, of Birmingham. A letter showed deceased’s private address was Elizabeth street, Melbourne. He seemed to be about 3G to 37 years of age, and there was nothing in his possession to indicate why he committed the act. The Coroner returned a verdict of “suicide by cutting his throat, there being no evidence to show deceased’s statq of mind at the time.” Correspondence indicated that deceased was married.
A WOMAN'S SUICIDE. Christchurch, April 30. A married woman named Mary Jane Thomas, twenty-eight years of age, committed suicide at her residence at St. Martin’s this morning. She had been despondent lately. This morning a neighbour went to the house after her husband had left for work, but found the doors locked. The husband was communicated with, and he broke into the house and found that the deceased had hanged herself to the handle of the bedroom door. A verdict was returned of suicide whilst of unsound mind. DEATH FROM HEART DISEASE. Christchurch, April 30. Colin Cook, a well-known resident of Lyttelton, of which he has been Mayor died suddenly this r veaing, presumably from heart disease.
