SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

STANLEY HOAD. The election resulted as follows; R. Guppy, P. Bottin, G. Keighley ; W. Hoskin, I’. H. Wellington, H Whcller, H. Johnson (re-elected chairman). REGISTERING A PROTEST. Whangaroi, April 29. At Manngukaramea last night a meeting of householders refused to elect a school committee as a protest against the action of the Education Board with regard to the appointment of teachers. At the Whangaroi meeting of householders only nine were present, and they elected themselves a committee.

MAHOE. i There wore 13 householders present, and Mr A. Colson was voted to the chair. The report, which showed a credit balance of £l2 11s 3d, was adopted. TJio following were nominated:—A. Colson (12), J. T. Ross (12), J. A. Kcmu) (11), A. Bulmer (11), J. Whittington (11), W. H. Wishart (9), E. G. Barleyman (9), J. L. Taylor (8), A. L. Hooper (5), S. Long ((3). The first seven were declared elected, with Mr J. Whittington chairman for the ensuing year, and A. Colson secretary and treasurer. CARDIFF.

The meeting was not largely attended, but those present evinced great interest in school matters, which went a. long way to make up for the somewhat meagre attendance. Mr J. W. Rogers was voted to the chair. The report and balance sheet showing that a good and satisfactory year’s work had been done was read and adopted. Nine candidate wore nominated, and a ballot being taken, the chairman declared the following duly elected:—Messrs. J. T. Belcher, j. Stewart, J. W. Jones, W. Mander. A. Wisnewoki, E. Bennett, J. W. Rogers. A hearty vote of thanks to the out-going committee was carried by acclamation. At the subsequent meeting of the new committee, Mr J. W. Rogers was elected chairman, and Mr J. T. Belcher Secretary and treasurer for the ensuing year. The Committee meets first Monday in the month at 7.30 p.m.
