At the Warwick Farm meeting on Saturday the Now Zealander Manukau won the Warwick Farm Handicap from Blind Murphy and Panout. Seven started and Mannkau won by a head in 2min lOsec. A Melbourne rnesage gives the result of the Glen Huntley Cup Nari 1, Safrano 2, Mala 3. Ten started, including Midnight Sun, who finished last. Nari won by a head, a length between second and third. The Marlborough Club s Autumn Meeting will open to-morrow (Wednesday) . The locally-owned Quo Yadis is moving nicely on the Hawera track, and should be worth keeping an eye on in view of Egmont. Cornelian was very “groggy” after the Manawatu meeting, but appears to have thrown off the trouble now. This gelding claims engagements in the Century and Great Northern Hurdles, but whether he will stand a preparation is problematical. Draft, who is engaged at Egmont, is looking particularly well just now. This iiCa useful horse when well.

Styrax, who was much “boomed” before Opunake, is very bad just at present with rheumatism, an ailment which is affecting quite a number of horses in this district.

Mnlga Bill and Red Sine,, two of Tom Goddard’s string, are going very well, and should play a prominent part at the forthcoming Egihont meeting. Coffey considers Ngatirunui incapable of getting to the end of 21 miles, and on this account did not nominate Maniopoto’s son for either Wanganui or Auckland “stick” events.
