ATTACK ON A CONSUL.
FIVE' YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT. [By Electric Telegraph-—Copyright] [United Press Association'.] Melbourne, April 28. Chia has been sentenced to- five years’ imprisonment. A Melbourne cablegram dated April 23 saysChia, a dismissed employee of the Chinese Consulate, who shot at and wounded the Consul on March 21, pleaded not guilty of wounding with intent to murder, but guilty of wounding with intent to do grievous harm. The prosecution accepted the plea, and the prisoner was remanded.
