NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.
Our Palmerston correspondent advises ns that arrangements for the big event in June are progressing. His Excellency the Governor isJto_ open the Show, and also the new additions to' 'the exhibition buildings. These latter have increased the coyered-in space to over 50,000 square feet, and the knowledge that the Show can now' be done under cover is very comforting. Applications for space even now exceed the available amount and the Committee do not seem to be any nekrer conquering this ever recurring problem. The new’ divisions which have been introduced into this year’s schedule, viz., fat stock, amateur photography and art needlework, are attracting great attention, and new events in the ring, to wit, push ball and tug-of-war, will prove interesting. The Poultry Committee recently held a meeting, and decided to run an art union in connection with their division. It is anticipated that entries in poultry and cat classes will exceed 1000. The general opinion here is that the forthcoming fixture is going to establish another record. Without doubt Palmerston North is going to be a Very full town during Winter Show wmek, and it behoves intending visitors to make arangements ahead for their accommodation. Entries close 2nd June. Schedules and information may be obtained trom the secretary, Mr W. T. Penny, Box So, Palmerston North.
