MONTENEGRO'S BLOOD. THE NEW SITUATION. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] Cettinje, April 25. King Nicholas, addressing the rejoicing crowd, declared “Scutari is Montenegrin henceforth.’ Conversing with tiie Russian Military Commissioner, King Nicholas said that the fall of Scutari had created a new situation, which would have to bo reckoned with everywhere. If Europe thought of taking away Scutari, for which Montenegro had almost bled to death, Europe would be forced to carry out the operation herself.
AUSTRIA’S DEMAND. Vienna, April 25. The Powers have not yet answered the Austrian demand lor vigorous measures. Austria is insistent that decisive action must be taken, either with or without Europe. The newspapers awe bellicose. It is understood that Austria has proposed the military occupation 01 Antiwari and San Giovanni by the Powers. Failing this, by Austria and Italy, or Austria alone. An expeditionary force of sixty thousand is ready. SLAV DEMONSTRATIONS.
There have been many Slav demonstrations in Austria and numerous arrests made. ,The police made a cordon round the Government Palace at Agram, where the demonstrations assumed alarming dimensions. THE POWERS’ SSSTAKE. St. Petersburg, April 25. The Xovoe Vremya urges the Powers to admit that they made a mistake, and to revise their decision with regard to Scutari. The police are preventing demonstrations. Belgrade, April 25. The newspaper Samouprava hopes that the Powers will change their attitude towards Montenegro, and revoke their previous decision. THE EVACUATION OF SCUTARI. Constantinople, April 26. Essad Pasha has officially informed the Porte that he evacuated Scutari owing to the exhaustion of provisions. THE POSITIOSTOF BRITAIN. Certain 1 infer that as a British Admiral commands the international squadron, Britain pill not remain aloof 'if further action be necessary to induce Montenegro to yield. MONTENEGRIN’S PINE HAUL. (Received 9.35 a.m.) Cettinje, April 25. The Montenegrins at Scutari captured 120 guns. Athens, .April 25. The population of Corytza have elected six Christians and four Moslems as a deputation to proceed to Europe to protest against being severed from the Greeks and annexed to Albania.
