NATIVE LAND PURCHASE.
ALLEGED BREACH OF CONTRACT

Litigation of an interesting character is pending over a Tahoraito native {■section. Mr. J. T. Wilson entered into npgotiations with the natives to purchase 420 acres, and got a transfer signed. He paid over £2OO of tho purchase price to the natives, and a 11.3 application for confirmation was made to the Kai'oa Native Land Board, and to have the confirmation gazetted, but it Was, adjourned. It is alleged that a Maori on the Land Purchase Board wire.d .a .native to, go to Wellington and ho bought tho land and paid the, whole purchase price, between £BOOO and £9OOO. Mr Wilson, who sold his business to pay tho natives, is left moneyless, landless, alld -without a business. It is admitted tee natives did not inform the Maori Land Purchase Board of the transaction with Mr Wilson, but, it is alleged, tho members of tho Board were aware of it. Proceeding are to bo commenced against the natives for a breach of contract, against a Native Land Purchase Board member for allegedly procuring the natives to break tho contract, and against.tho Crown for damages, and ap. injunction against the registration of tho transfer.
