“THE ONLY COURSE OPEN"
AMERICA AND ENGLAND. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 11.35' a.m.) Washington, April 21. Senator Chamberlain has introduced a Bill asking for the abrogation of the Hay-Pauncefote and Clayton Bulwer Treaties. “If Britain intended to protest step by "step against the United States Legislation, then,” asserted Mr Chamberlain, “the only course open to the United States was to annul basil legislation. The interests protesting wore really thb interests of the Canadian railroads. If the Anglomaniacs are continually to plead the British cause against'the United'States, it is time’they were given something to think about.”
