A deputation of ratepayers waited upon the Gore Borough Council and urged that precaution ho taken, to prevent a recurrence of the recent disaster. A resolution was passed that a comprehensive report be obtained on the best method of dealing with protection works, and that the Council employ a competent authority to tjraiv up 'an estimate of the cost.
