The Duchess of Connaught passed a restless night.—London cable.

The Rev. Mr Bandy and Mrs Bandy have arrived in Stratford.

Corporal Percy Bagnell, of Masterton, a member of the Oringi camp, has been admitted to the Dannevirke Hospital, suffering from pneumonia.—P. A. wire.

Councillor E. Walter, of the Stratford County Council, was yesterday appointed to represent the Council on the Stratford Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, the vacancy being caused owing to the retirement of Councillor E. Marfell.

The friends of Mr G. V. Tate were glad to see him about town (says the Waitara Mail). Mr Tate, although pretty shaky still after** his long illness, is making progress towards recovery. Mr Charles E. Armstrong, solicitor, who for the past five years has been managing Clerk for Mr Watts, of Hamilton, has taken up the position of Managing Clerk for Mr Cecil Wright, of Stratford. Mr Armstrong brings high credentials from the north, where he was held in much esteem. \
