It is definitely understood that the Senate will acept President WilsonV recommendations that wool and sugai shall carry I per cent duty, with a right to alter other schedule's as the\ think fit. The work of amendment has already started.

Several State delegations are visiting the Capitol, urging the retention of a small duty on wool. A considerable number of Senate Democrats are hacking the delegations’ demands, hut the Presidential recommendation; are likely to he carried. THREATEN'DD SECESSION. Honolulu, April 11. A petition is being circulated threatening the secession of Hawaii from the American Union if free sugar i» adopted by the Congress.
