LABOR PAPER’S TROUBLES. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 9.20 a.m.) Brisbane, April 11. A deputation of citizens headed by Mr Ryan, leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party, complained to the Home Secretary, Mr Appel, that the tramway company was boycotting the Labour paper. The newsboys were chased off; dealers and buyers of the paper were stopped on entering the trams; and passengers reading it were interfered with. Other papers were carried and delivered by the tramS. Mr Appel, on the strength of the Crown Solicitor’s opinion, stated that the Company were within their rights in refusing to carry Labour papers. He promised an inquiry.
