The Chairman of Committee remarked that Senor Arana's allegation that Sir Roger Casement's statements were exaggerated had broken down. Senor j Arana said that Sir Roger Casement had relied on the statements of barbarians, who would lend themselves I to any sort of story. The committee was obviously dissatisfied with Senor | Arana's evasive replies-, and with his > professing ignorance of the details! of the cases mentioned.
BLACKMAILER SENTENCED. London, April 9. Reginald Treloar, alias Nicholson, was sentenced to three years' penal servitude for sending threatening letters to Cyril Maude, the actor. His brother George was acquitted.
