On Thursday and Friday, the East Road Sheep Dog Trial Club held its fifth annual meeting at Te Wca, and, as anticipated, it proved a huge sv.ccess. Mr O’Neill kindly lent the use of the ground, and Mr Nathan’s Estate provided the sheep. Several piominent Stratford gentlemen were pi osent, and were greatly impressed with the quality of work shown by the leading dogs. The Stratford Auctioneers’ Cup was on view, and was greatly admired by all. Mr V. Noun Avon the Club’s Cup, and having won it last year, it noiv becomes his:;own property. On Friday evening a social air! dapce, Ayas held in the Te Wera Hall, and Avas largely attended. Excellent music was suplied by Mrs Bianchi, of Stratford, and everyone«appeared to enjpy themselves. The following are the winning dogs in the different events of the Trial:— CLASS 1. HEAD, BRING BACK and HOLD in RlNG.—About a quarter of a mile. Time, 10 minutes. Points; Heading, 9; bringing back, 8; ring, 4; command, 9. First prize £5, second £2 10s, third £l, fourth 10s.

CLASS 2. ■ HE4D, PULL, DRIVE AND YARD. Abolii 300 v. yard's.' Time 12 minutes. Points: I pull, 1 ; 5; style, 6; .yijird, \ command, lOi First prize ‘£s. Second £2, 10s', (third £l* fpuith V 10s. '
