HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. Despite the cold weather, there was a very fair attendance at His Majesty’s Theatre last evening, patrons appreciating very considerably the action of the management in installing an up-to-date heating system. The star picture was the “Den of Lions,” a Nordisk masterpiece. The plot of this stupendous production is weaved around a lion tamer, a lady wire walker, and a circus jockey. Some of the leading circus acts of Europe wore introduced in the picture, and the trained boa-constrictor from the moment lie escapes from the cage and embraces the sleeping infant creates a tremendous sensation. The act of the performing lions stands out on its own, one of the most exciting incidents of the show being the fall of the wire-rope walker into the den of lions. Lieutenant Rose and the Train Wreckers is a picture that raised great enthusiasm, the scones being realistic and thrilling. “Combination of the Safe” introduces a trained parrot, which helps to __ bring the diamond thief within the clutches of th« law. “Winning a Widow” is one of the best comedies yet screened, and introduces the Kalem Company on their voyage to Egype. The opening scene is laid on an Ocean liner, arid the concluding scenes are all taken in Luxor. “The Pond Dwellers,” an educational fdm, manufactured by the Patho Companies, depicts the eternal strife that exists amongst the tiniest organisms.
