MATTHEWS, BENNETT AND CO.’S DEPORT. Matthews, Bennett and Co. report that there was a good entry of stock in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. Bidding was good and nearly everything sold as follows; Calves £1 to £‘2 Js Gd, empty heifers £3 to £3 18s Gd, coloured do. £4, store cows £1 16s to £3 18s, fat do. £5 4s to £5 12s Gd, bulls £2 5s to £5 2s 6d, cull ewes 5s to 5s 2d, mixed aged ewes 10s Gd. NZ. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.’S REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 2nd April, 1913: Tallow. —We quote present spot values for the following descriptions of tallow: Fine mutton 38s per cwt, good beef 36s 3d, mixed 345. The market is active. Wheat. —We have sold an Australian cargo at 37s c.i.f. Ihc market is firm and there is a fair demand owing to Continental buying. The outlook is encouraging.
