THE FALL OF ADRIANOPLE

THE TURKS TAMO-STRICKEN

London, April 3

Reuter’s correspondent, who was in Adrianople throughout tho siege, states that the Bulgarians had thirty batteries, and fired unceasingly for three days. Tlio Turks being exhausted, became panic-stricken, the officers leading. The General set fire to tho barracks, and spiked the guns, and blow up Marash bridge. Consuls throughout protected their subjects. The British Consul, Samson, constantly ran the gauntlet of shells to save tho Englishmen and their wives and children, and established hospitals.

ATTACK ON TARABOSCH

Ccttinjo, April 3

General Martinovitch, with the southern column, stormed Great Tarabosch, capturing tier after tier ui entrenchments after desperate struggles.

Two hundred picked bomb-throwers clambered up the mountain and cul the entanglements, under a murderous fire. Getting to close quarters, they threw their bombs, opening a wiy for tbe storming party. Every bombthrower fell, but the infantry followed close and charged the trenches. A bloody hand-to-hand fight took place, lasting for an hour, and in the ei.d the Montenegrins were victorious. They lost 300 killed and wounded.

M. Pasitch, replying to the advice from Sir Ralph Paget, the Brird-sh Minister here, says that he bows to die will of the Powers. He declares that Sorvia's withdrawal from Scutari would be tantamount to treachery and would, moreover, sound the death knell of the Balkan Alliance. He adds that Servia is bound by treaty to assist Montenegro until peace is declared. Cettinje, April 3.
