At the Marconi inquiry Mr Sydney Davy gave evidence that he acted as Mr Lloyd George’s stockbroker for many years. His client never speculated. Mr Lloyd George informed Mr Davy’s partner that he had purchased American Co.’s shares through another channel as an investment. It was on their advice that the Chancellor sold 1000 shares. Mr Lloyd George paid up to 7 per cent accommodation.
