Matthews, Bennett and Co. report a full yarding of stock at their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. Coloured weaners were in good demand, hut all other stock were rather hard to quit at recent prices. We quote: Store cons £2 ids to £3 ss, forward do. £4 to £4 17s, coloured heifers /V.w.h. £4 18s, coloured weaners £3 3s to £3 11s, wearier heifers 32s to 38s, mixed do. 27s 6d to 335, inferior Ids to £1 Is, empty heifers £3 Is to £3 Gs, 4, and 6-tpoth ewes 12s 2d, f.m. ewes Gs Gd to 7s, culls 4s 3d to ss, lambs Gs Gd to 7s Bd, culls 3s Gd to 5s Id, rams (culls) Gs to Bs, others £1 Is.

At Stratford yards on Tuesday I,Bth there was a good entry of both sheep and cattle,-/and the public were present in good numbers. Bidding opened poorly, but improved during the sale. Good weaner steers, Jersey wearier heifers, best conditioned cows and bulls \vere in demand. There was no inquiry for weedy or bad coloured weapers. The whole entry of sheep with one exception was cleared. I supply prices obtained: On account of Mr W. 0. Colson, G very choice Jersey weaner heifers, £3 13; on account of a Stratford client, a fine pen of 29 Shorthorn weaner steers, £2

On the same day at' Stony River there, was a small entry of 150 head of cattle and 70 sheep. Practically everything was cleared at the following rates:—Empty heifers £3 11s, Jersey Aveaner heifers £2 10s, good pen of Aveaner steers £1 19s fid, mixed weaners £1 10s fid to £2 Os fid. small £1 3s to £1 ss, 20-month steers £3 7s fid to £3 10s, 20-month in-calf heifers £1 0s fid, store cows £2 4s to £3 18s, forAAard coavs up to £1 13s, fat coavs £5 11s to £6 7s, fonvard bullocks £7 11s, fat heifers £5 11s, bulls £fi to £7 ss, small £3 2s fid, springing heifers £6 10s to £fi 12s fid, good Avoolly lambs 10s 9d, small woolly lambs 9s Id, mixed forward sheep 10s fid, slip pigs Ss to 10s.
