AUSTRALIAN RACING. PIASTRE WINS THE AUTUMN STAKES. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.! (United Tress Association.) Sydney, March 22. There was beautiful weather and a good attendance at the first lay of the A.J.C. meeting. Among those present •were: Messrs. Greenwood, Mason, Watt and Currie, of New Zealand. The competitors included the best horses in training in Australia. There was disappointment at the absence of Bobrikoff, who did so Well at the same meeting in 1911. Paisano, who recently ran poorly at Kembera Grange, was scratched for the Hurdles, in which Don Quex ran fairly. Merrie Lad, the other New Zealand horse competing, was not conspicuous. Results :

First Hurdle Race, of 300 so vs. two miles.—Miser 9.10, 1; Gorlias, 9.10, 2; Styrnony, 9.0, 3. Time, 3min 4|sec.

Autumn Stakes, of 1000 sovs; one mile and a-half.—Piastre (Connell), 1; Hallowmass (Barnett), 2; Jacamar (Wood), 3. Piastre easily won by four lengths, With Jacamar three-quar-ters of a length away. Time, 2min 35i

CADONIA WINS THE CUP. Sydney, March 24. There was again an enormous attendance for the second day’s races at the A.J.C. Autumn meeting. Andelosia was scratched. Won by a length. Time, Imin Isec. Sydney Cup, of 3000 sovs; two miles. —Cadonia (MacDonald) 1, Cagon (Callinan) 2, Jacamar (Connell) 3. Sir Willie and Embracer were scratched. It was a good start except that Port Hunter was left at the post. Won by a length, with half a length between second and third. Time, 3min 28Isec.

First Steeplechase.—The Miser 1, Sir Lethe 2, Hautapu 3. Rude Boy also started. Won by six' lengths. Time omin 30sec.

Easter Handicap, two miles.—Todd Bells 1, General Jouhert 2, Lncy Wallace 3. Nine started, including Erin’s Tracey. Won handily by two and a half lengths. Time, smin 6sec. Tramway Handicap, one mile and a distance.—Mahurangi 1, Glenidol 2, Miss Clarice 3. Seven started. Won easily by ten lengths. Time, 2min 48 2-ssec.
