A.R.C. EASTER MEETING

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, March 22. The A.R.C. Easter Meeting commenced in beautiful weather, and a fast track. .Results : Tradesmen’s Handicap.—Peary I, Monorail 2, Maxwell 3. Scratched: Dido and Tanglwai. Peary took charge

after three furlongs had been covered, and lasted long enough to win by a length and a half, half a length between second and. third. Time, 2min lOsec.

A protest was entered against the winner for alleged interference with Monorail. Tlxo stewards sustained the protest, and disqualified Peary, but, being of opinion that Devit-t (jockey) was unable to control his horse inflicted no punishment on him.

Brighton Hurdles.—Prophet 1, Surplus 2, Te Wharoa 3. Scratched: Hoanga, Hyperion, Whimper k hive furlongs from home, Prophet and Sandy Paul went to the front, the latter falling at the fence .near the mile and a-half post. Prophet won easily by six lengths. Champagne Stakes.—Sol tano I, Merry Roc 2, Dnffly 3. Also started : Lady Alicia. Soltimo and Merry Roe led all the way, and after an exciting finish Spltano gained a verdict by a neck. Time, Imin 16 2-ssec.

Easter Handicap.—Jack Delaval 1, Bleriot 2, Tact 3. Scratched; Larcina, Crown Pearl, Kaween, Gloy. Tact made the running for the first three furlongs, when Jack Delaval got on terriis, and the pair turned for home together. Jack Delaval drew out and won by two lengths from Bleriot, which just beat Tact for second place.

WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB. Feathcrston, March 22. The course is splendid, and there is a large crowd. The is fine, except that a heavy north-west gale is blowing. Results : Trial Hack Handicap.—Ladoga 1, Perhaps 2, Submersion 3. Scratched: Juliette, Field Force, Perolina, Piermont and W. Davies’ Field Battery colt. Time, linin 14,4-ssec. To Waka Hack Welter.—Braeburn 1, Lord Palmer 2, Borsil 3. Scratched : Awahou, Perhaps, Dogfish.' Time, Imin 29'seo.

Easter' Handicap.—-Patriotic 1, Sea Queen 2, Ceylon 3. All started. Won all the way by a length. Time, 2min 7 2-sscc. '
