HIGH JUMP AT THE SHOW. (By Electric Telegraph..—Copyright.; (United Press Association.) (Received 9.20 a.m.) Sydney, March 21. The weather is fine for the races. At the Show the high jump was won by Radium, who cleared six feet four inches, Desmond being second. The ferry strike affected the attendance nfaterially.
MURDER OR MANSLAUGHTER ?
Sydney, March 20. The two youths, Bowerman and White have been discharged. The police have detained two other youths, of whom one is reported to have made a statement that he fired at the Chinaman in self-defence.
(A Sydney cable dated March 17 says: Chong Soon, a Chinese, was found dead near Parramatta, with a long-handled prong lying by his side and a bullet wound in his breast. Richard Arthur Bowennan and John Maitland White have been charged on suspicion with shooting the Chinaman, uid remanded.)
