CR MORISON’S ADVICE.
> (To the Editor Stratford Post.) Sir, —It is with reluctance that I pen these few lines, but I feel impelled, as a matter of duty, to do so, since the Mayor has seen fit to urge the ratepayers to vote for at least the water and drainage issues. I would urge them to v'ote for the street improvements, if for any issue, this, in my opinion, being by far the most important. I further urge you to.consider the benefits to be derived from the improved conditions; count the cost; and, if you can bear the burden, then vote for all four proposals. I place the proposals in the following order of importance: First, street improvements, as benefiting everyone; second, tho bridge, a decided improvement to Stratford, and economy in the long run, as a very considerable portion of the amount of the loan will in any case have to he expended in repairs and maintenance if not renewed with a permanent structure; third, the water. This is an important work and I would like to see it carried, as doubtless new and larger mains will have to be put down at an early date. Fourth, drainage. I would like to see this work carried, out, too, but it is going to cost -too much, considering the comparatively few who would benefit by it. It would be a boon to some, but a burden to many. In conclusion, I would urge the ratepayers above all things to come out and vote for or against each and all of the proposals.—l am, etc., R. McK. MORISON.
