SUNDRY SPORTS.
RIFLE SHOOTING. The Eltham and Stratford RifleClubs, with teams of eight men aside, fired a friendly match on the Stratford range yesterday afternoon. The wind was tricky and the light bad, only a few of the marksmen being able to top ninety. Stratford scored the victory by the narrow margin - of six points, the team putting up 697 points. Rifleman T. Narbey and W. Narbey of the Eltham Club, were the top scorers with 94 and 93 respectively, and the best scores among the local team were made by Rifleman Wickham (91), E. Brocklebank (90), and Speck (90). After the match the visiting teams were entertained at dinner at Pi vac’s restaurant. It is intended to fire' a return match shortly.
TENNIS. The following will represent the match against Hawera on Monday next at Hawera: Mesdames Robinson, Paget and Budge; Miss Wilson; Messrs Thompson, Marshall, Rutherford, Wright (2), Vaughan. The team will leave by the express train on Monday morning.
